Perth Gutter Cleaning
How would you like it if your home is cluttered with dried leaves, dust, dried twigs, flowers, rain water, and the like? Sounds yuck, right? Of course it does and if you are a cleanliness freak, then even the sight of a speck of dust can make you cringe. So you can imagine what all of this can do to you. If you can't see all of this at home, then you should also ensure that your gutters are also not cluttered with all the junk that can easily be taken care of. If you are staying in an area with lots of trees around your home, then dried leaves, twigs, and flowers are few of the things that will definitely get collected in the gutter during autumn, won't they? If the gutters are not cleaned in time for the rains, then the rain water also gets collected among all this junk, which can cause flooding throughout the walls and foundation. The clogged gutters can also cause a leak in the roof because of the excessive water seepage. Ideally the gutter should be checked at least twice a year and if you are staying in a place that receives excessive rainfall, then the gutters should be checked more than two times in a year.

Collecting Gutter Cleaning Supplies...
You may want to reconsider your gutter cleaning techniques if you plan to just use a hose and wash away all the debris collected. Simply hosing it down with a garden hose will worsen the mess and not at all make it easier. Hence, if you are planning to clean in the near future, make sure that you have the proper cleaning supplies to start with. First of all make a list of all the things that you need, then strike out whatever you already own. Depending on how many more you need either purchase them or borrow them. Some of the things that you can't do without are an extension ladder, hand spade or a narrow garden trowel, s-hook and bucket or trash bags, work gloves, plumber’s snake, and a hose of the required length along with an attachment for spraying.
Start Cleaning!
- All the tools that you require should be collected and placed near the spot where you would like to begin your cleaning endeavour. The best places to start cleaning are the corners of your home as the downspouts are usually located there. It is advisable to start working from the downspouts and move further away as this will not push the debris in the downspout.
- Use work gloves to protect your hands from getting any kind of dirt on to them and they will also protect your hands from any kind of sharp items while cleaning the gutters.
- If you are using an s-hook and bucket or trash bags to clean up the debris, then it would be a good idea to secure them to the extension ladder before you start the cleaning procedure. This will help you to start minimizing the cleaning procedure later on.
- Now make use of the hand spade or a garden trowel to remove all the debris and use the trash bag or the bucket to dump them in.
- Once you have cleaned the gutter of all the big debris, you can now use the garden hose to wash away the remaining debris in to the downspout with water.
- After this is done, look for any kind of damages on the gutter like cracks, holes, or holes.
