Step for Installing a Gutter...

Before you start installing, you will need to determine how much material you will need and hence you should be sure of your measurements. Then draw the plan in which you will be installing the gutter for easy installation.
  • Along the fascia mark the area where the gutter needs installation with the help of a piece of chalk.

  • With the help of a level, inspect your work.

  • The end part of the gutter should be attached to the rain gutter before you hang the first length of the gutter.

  • The first length of the gutter needs to be attached to one of the corner of your home.

  • Then the spikes, strap hangars and ferrules need to be placed at a distance of two inches apart from each other.

  • After you have placed the first piece, the major part of the work is done. Now just go on adding the sections of the rain gutter connecting them with slip connectors.

  • The end pieces with the outlets need to be inserted in the places where downspouts are required.

  • Outside or inside turning miters also need to be added wherever they are required.

  • Now attach all the downspouts to the walls of the home and also the strainers need to be inserted in all the openings of the downspout.

  • A square shoe needs to be attached at the end of the downspout so that the water can get directed out.
